Learn the Most Important Spanish Prepositions

You travel to beautiful Costa Rica. You have the sun, warm climate, and amazing nature to enjoy on a daily basis. You love the friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. There is, however, one thing you might be missing while in Costa Rica—the Spanish language. You probably have been willing to learn Spanish, but you just have not known where to start: verbs, personal pronouns, Spanish Prepositions… What you need is a Spanish school in Costa Rica, but you don’t want just any Spanish school. You need the Costa Rican Language Academy (CRLA) to help you with your goals.

As you are learning Spanish, you are going to want to know all about the language. You will want cultural and language immersion along with a comprehensive program of Spanish studies. You are also going to need to know the important prepositions in the Spanish language. Once you have learned these, it will make studying Spanish much easier.

Some Important Prepositions

What are the prepositions in the Spanish language? Here are twelve of them:

  1. De: of, from, or about
  2. A: to, at
  3. En: in, on, at
  4. Por: for, by, because of, through
  5. Con: with
  6. Para: for, to
  7. Sin: about
  8. Sobre: on, about, regarding
  9. Hasta: up to, until
  10. Entre: between, among, amid
  11. Ante: in front of, before
  12. Desde: from, since

Why Are Prepositions Important?

Why would learning prepositions be important? When you use prepositions, you tie together two parts of a sentence. Once you learn some prepositions and Spanish vocabulary words, you will be able to put some small sentences together. You might want to consider learning prepositions as you would any other vocabulary word in Spanish. You will find that these prepositions are used constantly in the Spanish language. The sooner you learn how to use them, the easier your mastery of the Spanish language will be. As you study daily, the use of prepositions will come easily to you. Soon you will be able to use them just as a native Spanish speaker can.

Did you know that Spanish prepositions have no number or gender? This will make it easier for you as you study them because they are not singular or plural. They are not feminine or masculine.
